It has been an unusual winter here at the Point.
Very little snow, several days of "springlike" weather, but
also some very cold days and nights (winds over 40 mph, windchills
26 degrees below zero).
Estimates have been made of 15,000 ducks on our part of the lake (mostly redheads and canvasbacks, with some mergansers, mallards, and scaups). Also, many Canada geese, many
swans, and snow geese are beginning to arrive.
Most fun to watch are "our" bald eagles (at least two adults and 3 young ones).
The adults appear to be teaching the young ones to hunt.
I have winter pictures, but can't figure out how to post them. I'll keep trying.
